There’s absolutely no risk of finding a hole in one of our items of embroidered clothing. And you know where else there is no risk of a hole in one? On the golf course, that’s where. If you doubt the authenticity of this statement then the proof will be in the pudding. And the pudding is to come in the form of the Macmillan – Longest Day Golf Challenge.
Now in pudding terms this is a big one, like a massive sprawling trifle. On June 21 we are supporting the fantastic work of the good people at Macmillan Cancer Support by completed 4 rounds of golf in just one day. Some figures to put this endeavour into perspective: we will have to walk over 25 miles, play for over 15 hours and hit around 300 shots (realistically more like 3,000).
Last year over 300 teams took part in the challenge and raised more than £325,000 to help those people in the UK living with cancer. So here at The GF Shop we thought it was about time we did our bit.
Now the last thing we want to do is to hold everyone up; so naturally we’ve been putting in a bit of training. This has been the difficult bit. Because as a real golf fan, training has meant playing lots and lots of golf – the things we have to do ay.
Anyway, the main reason for this blog entry – sponsorship. I want to raise as much money as I possibly can, and for that I need your help. Whether it’s a penny or a pound, I would be infinitely grateful if you could take the time to visit http://original.justgiving.com/johnsheppard and sponsor me. It’s really simple – you can donate online using your debit or credit card. Thank you so much in advance.
All donations are secure and sent electronically to Macmillan Cancer Support. If you are a UK taxpayer, Justgiving will automatically add a 28% bonus to your donation at no cost extra cost, making your donation even more worthwhile!
And as far as embroidered clothing is concerned, you can buy that simply and cheaply from our fantastic online store.
